Your guide will pick you up from your hotel / Kusadasi port / Izmir airport.We started the day with a visit to the House of the Virgin Mary (according to the Catholic Church, it was the last resting place of the Virgin Mary). We continue with the ancient city of Ephesus (it was one of the largest cities of the Roman Empire during the Pax Romana, 1st and 2nd centuries AD). Ephesus is the native city of Heraclitus the Dark who was a presocratic Greek philosopher. We visit the Odeon (little theater), Fountain of Trajan (Nymphaeum), Hadrian Temple, Library of Celsus and the Grand Theater. The highlight of the morning visit is the Terrace Houses. Ephesus was one of the largest and the richest cities of the Roman Empire during the Pax Romana (Roman Peace). This visit of the terrace houses takes us to the daily life of the richest citizens of the city. We have lunch in a very nice winery where we can taste the Chef’s Specialties and a good section of local wine. The quality of the wine will be a good surprise. After lunch, first we visit the house of Virgen Mary (Today it is a small chapel, especially visited by Catholic groups. According to the Catholic Church, it is the place wherethe Virgin Mary spent her last days). Then we visit thearchaeological museum of Ephesus. In this museum, we can see some objects found during the excavations in the archeologicalsite of Ephesus. After the museum, we have a short stop at the place where the famous Temple of Artemis (one of the seven wonders of the ancient world) was. Unfortunately, there is not much to see today.*At the end we continue to the port / airport / your hotel.
